Tayfun developed an obsession with computers and specifically their interaction with science at an early age. Having started to program on a Commodore, he’d already progressed to QBASIC programming on IBM PCs by the time he decided to go to a science-specialist high-school in 1992. In 1994 he and a friend (Umut Altinkaynak) won a Certificate of Merit from Turkey’s Ministry of National Education for project “Thermograph”: a product that combined software with hand-built components to both observe and derive energy from chemical reactions.

Unsurprisingly Tayfun elected to read Computer Technology & Programming at Bilkent University in 1995; however his entrepreneurial spirit rose to the fore and he set up CPS Computer & Project Solutions Ltd., a software and IT services company, eventually giving up his studies to run the company full time. The company built systems including sales management, logistics and residential management packages for public and private sector business. Tayfun resumed his studies and graduated in 2002, but not before he’d created a new product to identify liquids using a simple refractometer combined with a software.

Shortly after graduating, he moved to the UK and started working for Welding Alloys Group, progressing from software developer to Global IT Manager, responsible for establishing the company information infrastructure and IT services worldwide. In particular he developed systems to support document management, parts ordering and built a corporate intranet.

It was his work on the corporate intranet that led to an idea to develop a Web Operating System to promote better collaborative working, and he formalized this to obtain his Masters Degree in Software Engineering from the University of Liverpool.

This concept and subsequent development led to the birth of Rabbit Web OS (aka Rabbit WorkSpace), and the decision to commercialise the product and establish Rabbitsoft as a provider of innovative software solutions, aiming to empower groups, teams and enterprises.

He is currently the Managing Director of Rabbitsoft responsible for development, engineering, and long term technical and strategic direction of Rabbitsoft and its products.

Tayfun enjoys following the latest developments in software and IT but uses his remaining spare time to play as a striker for a local league football club, watch movies and socialize. He is a skier, competitive table tennis player, road biker, passionate driver/car enthusiast and has recently taken an interest in amateur radio communications (M6 BSL).
